Whereas, evidence-based care is often premised primarily on goals to increase longevity, the circumstances associated with multimorbidities [e.g., cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Parkinson disease, dementia, and chronic kidney disease] may undercut the perceived value of prolonging life.
